Each bite is delicious
On average, at 6-8 chunks per ounce (with 100 calories/oz), it is kind of a diet buster. I soaked it for an hour (draining and soaking several times). The flavor was still excellent and reduced the sweetness by about 25%. I find completely raw ginger cooked in curry to be excellent without any sweetener.
We love candided ginger but struggle with the needlessly excesive amounts of sugar most manufacturers add to it. These are plenty sweet -no one would try them and think they need more sugar- but also allow you to taste the wonderful ginger.
